2022 Fall Travel Baseball

As we have done in the past, TBO will submit and manage teams for the Northeast Bergen All-Stars (NEBAS) Fall league (, which is a youth travel baseball league comprising teams from Bergen, Hudson, Passaic, and Rockland (NY) counties.

As opposed to TBO, NEBAS divisions are based on age, not grade (e.g., 13 and under, 12 and under, etc.), with the eligibility cut-off being September 1 of the following year. For example, to be eligible for 13U, the child must not turn 14 before September 1, 2023. NEBAS divisions run from 8 and under (8U) through 14U.

This year's Summer league will start in mid-June and run through the end of July.

Key points to understand/consider:

1) TBO is willing to submit a team for any age/division for which a given parent (or group of parents) is willing to coach and manage a team. If there is enough interest we can have more than one team per age group, assuming we have enough coaches. Alternatively, if parents are willing, TBO can hire a coach, though this would increase the registration cost for that team

2) Generally speaking, during the Fall, there is usually 1 game per week, along with practices. Parents should budget for at least 3 "sessions" per week between games and practices. While games may end up on Sundays, scheduling is ultimately based on when the coaches from the teams on the schedule are able to schedule mutually beneficial times.

3) Travel is "competitive"; it is not the same as our traditional Spring rec league where everyone gets to play and we aim for equal participation across the board. While coaches can ultimately make their own decisions, parents should understand that travel teams typically have a tryout, with players neither guaranteed to make the team nor guaranteed to "start" or get equal playing time even if on the team.
